i've even done 87 before when 91 was $4.60 .... just drive lightly, you are fine... even the manuals states you can put 87 in, they state you will lose performance.. obviously. but it wont blow your motor...

If you really care about your dsm why would you even put 87 or 89 in there. Its too much of a risk in my book to be messing around with nock. To me your saving a penny to latter spend a quarter. May be it will run fine but if it doesnt now you want have to worry about premium or not you will be figuring out how to rebuild your engine. Just stay on the safe side.

not too sure but i was told 87 can help you pass smog better than 91 is this true?

87 will burn hotter and cleaner since it has no additives to increase octane..

..but if you really want to pass emissions, is run E85 for awhile to let the system adjust to the A/F mixture then do the test.

.. or, on a temporary install, just stick on two cats in series in the exhaust system right before you get sniffed .. this will make things look really clean ..

i would run the highest octane unleaded at the pump. better for your engine.

with running 8.5:1 compression with that 7bolt (if it is stock..), true-89 is a little low... just keep it out of boost or drop a pint of octane booster in the tank..

Or go E85 since alcohol is high octane fuel anywhos ...

E85 FTW!! im paying like $ 1.90 a gallon

HaHa, No secret.. I list that race fuel was used!!! Its only 100 octane and low lead..

I use to run air craft fuel (100 low lead) killed my o2 sensor, and when i lived in rochester one gas station sold 100 octane so thats all i used, i didnt drive much but it was there and only like 5 dollars a gallon. But i have never ran less then 93.

Yeah its $290 a gallon here, but not for to much longer. They said the price is going up soon.. So me and jusmx was thinking about getting a 55 gallon barrel and filling it up...
