I know it might sound crazy, but gas prices in California is crazy, it is $3.33 just today (8/31/05) and it is still raising.

I don't know if it has been done before, I'd done searches and FAQ's, no information, so here goes...

What if we keep our wastegate open at all time? then is it possible to run 87 octane since no boost is created?

If the answer is yes above, how can I modify my wastegate actuator or wastegate actuator arm or wastegate flap to open?

Thanks for listening guys, criticism accepted :D.

it's no way to save money, but you could use an afc to adjust your fuel for high-throttle use. i use 89 when the price difference is .10 or better for 91 (haven't seen 92 for a while). i get about 24 mpg with it as long as i drive gently, so the mpg thing isn't really a worry. right now i only have my dsm for daily driving, and i don't have much time for work with all my school stuff... so i'm cutting costs everywhere.
as long as you don't hit boost (which is pretty easy) your car will be just fine with 89

Gas prices are up to 3.50 for 93 here in Jersey. Glad I am not living in Atlanta though :D I was watching CNN and they showed a sign for $6.07 for 93. :notgood:

Yea, I just put in $10 worth of gas yesterday and it came out to 3 gallons ROFL

hahaa.. Dam.. There's some cheap basatards out there.. .

Figure you'll save like $2.00-3.00 on a fillup just to get the crappy gas... But what happens when you feck up the motor from running crap gas?? Then you gotta pay hundreds or thousands to get it working right again.

Some people just aren't bright.

better to learn about how to save money on fuel now rather than making some desperate attempt when prices soar to $6-8/gal. besides, by using lower grade fuel and a lighter foot, we're saving money not just on the fuel we buy, but how much we buy.
