I have a 80MM Throttle Body for a N/T set up in my 420a. The TB never came with a TPS and I'm not sure what TPS will fit.

I bought a brand new TPS (which costed $225) for the 420a and it won't fit the TB.

What are my options or how can I make his TPS fit on this TB?

I purchased the TB from EBAY seller; dnamotoring.

All I can find from that seller is "universal" throttle bodies. Your best bet is to ask him or her which TPS's will fit.

Also, FYI 80mm is huge! That's not necessarily a good thing...

Why not? I have a aftermarket intake manifold that I already had modified to fit this specific TB.

I just need to find a TPS that will fit. I just sent a message to dnamotoring, let's see what happens.

Honestly, you might end up loosing a little bit of low end power with a tb that big. IIRC anything over 57mm on an n/a engine didn't have very many positive results.

Knock yourself out, but its way too big. I'm running a 65mm Mustang on my NA with lots O' mods.

Op you're better offf sending that tb back and modding a jeep tb. 80mm is way to big.

with a 57vs 60 you will lose low end with the 60 but you gain it in top end power. 57 is the biggest you can go before you start losing low end power, its basically a personal preference. There are many of threads on the 55 vs 60 and 57 vs 60. Personally if i where you i'd stay with the 60 because even though i like the 57, i dont think its that big of a deal to worry about spending the money to drop down. But yeah 80mm is gigantic, maybe dsm-zero could make use of it :p

Agreed, contact the seller and ask them which one will work with the TB.

Also your throttle body size should be equal to the surface area of all of your intake valves for best performance. If you match the the 2 sizes you will see optimal performance. Anything over your are just losing power for yourself. Just a FYI for ya.

Hey one quick question about this, why honda usually put biger OEM TB in their cars (B16, B18A are 58mm B18C is 62mm SOHC D15 and D16 Series 55mm-58mm) and they have smaller engines (1.8L-1.6L-1.5L)and we have a 52 OEM TB with biger engines and if we go over 60 we loose power.... why??

We don't rev to 10k stock. A bigger TB will see more upper gains, assuming you can rev high enough to achieve that.

Because, Honda knew that they would need all the help they could get.

I was thinking that too, 80MM is gigantic!:hmm:
I'm only running a 57MM.

I didn't know you were running a Mustang throttle body interesting...
Is that a direct bolt on?

Not direct. Its got a few things to deal with. I'm running Squirt so I don't deal with any idle control. The 65mm hole would be really tough to do on the stock intake neck. I doubt you would be able to hit it just right (the extra material machined out of the neck) without cutting through the neck. but I was able to use the same "stock position" holes on my AMM intake. I just had to round out, and grind down the exterior of the throttle body housing where the bolts go. I used allen head bolts. I still use the stock throttle cable though. And with this particular throttle body, the 'pull" was in the proper direction.

I see... Well I can only learn from my mistakes. So what size throttle body should I get? I read that the 57MM is the best one any DSM can get.

I'm not at a huge loss YET, I can still return the TB and keep the TPS I purchase and use it on a TB that's going to work.

Is 57MM my best route?

What are your goals, as far as power?
If you plan on staying N/A I'd say 55-57.

If you plan on running a turbo, I'd recommend 57-60. Keep in mind, if your throttle body is bigger than the port on your intake manifold all of the space is not utilized.

I dumped the 80MM TB. I'm planning on bringing it in to my mechanic along with this extra TPS I got ripped for to see if I can get some form of credit.

I have a 57MM TB now.

I do plan on throwing in a turbo early next year.

bah, i wish you'd give us all info up front, for turbo i would diffidently go 60mm over 57, the rules for NA vs turbo differ, granted 57 will be way better than stock either way

If i were you I would figure out exactly what you want out of your car or else your gonna change your mind and end up buying things twice and spending a lot of money.

word and pablo.. im telling you.. ask all questions to either me and richi or on TUNERS before you buy so you dont have to go through it.. well you have to update your avatar , you now have a spoiler!
