I have a 1g awd with 16g mbc and boost guage. I didnt install the mbc it was already in there when I bought the car.I did install the guage and tapped into the intake mani line like all the articles say. I may have a boost leak but not sure. I am pulling roughly 12 vacuum at idle and when boost onsets then I see 8psi. It holds all the way up the revs. I have adjusted the mbc a few turns(looking to goto 12psi -15psi) but my guage never moves higher than 8 psi. I have looked for leaks but found none. Am I going in the right direction thinking that it is a boost leak or could it be something else?

Very likely that it's a boost leak. Pressurize the system with the engine off and check for leaks.

What is the easiest way to pressurize the system? I have an air compressor in the garage just no clue on how to pressurize the motor.

Alright found the boost/vacuum leak. It is coming from the spring/throttle plate swivel. I hope that is clear. It is the only spring assembly on the TB. At first I thought it was the gasket so I put a new one on it and tightened it down and pressurized it and it still was leaking. Upon further inspection I found that the leak was somewhere in the spring assem. Is there a gasket in there? I have the TB off the car but dont want to tear it down if there isnt a seal in there somewhere. Any clues what else it could be? I am dumbfounded for now.

Figured out it is the shaft seals. Just cant find them for a 90 model. Machv has them for 91+. Aint that some sh*t!
