8-10 vacuum at idle

ok here is what is going on. MY car at idle is around 8-10 depending on what it really wants to be at. when driving and letting off teh gas and letting the gear slow down...the vacuum is at 20 - 22 ? i did a compression test and here it goes #4= 170 #3=174 #2=174 #1 = 175. can it still be my timing or is it more of the vacuum lines? i am doing my clutch cylinders(both) today and i am gonna rip everything off and try to do the taboo speed shop thing. still can't figure out that picture but ill try...if anyone can help me on any of this...let me know plz

first off where are you tapping for the boost gauge? What vaccum line are you using for the gauge itself? Is it the hard plastic line for rubber line? My car at idle is about 19-20 vaccum and while driving and off the throttle its about 25. My car is basically stock except a MBC.

^ ^ ^ Yeah, sounds like you're either dealing with a kinked vacuum hose or are tapped into the wrong place. That motor's reasonably healthy.

Check your fuel pressure solonoid vacuum line that comes from your fpr. Just a guess but when I installed my Aeromotive FPR and adjusted it with the line off my gauge reads 10 but as soon as I hook up the line it goes back down to 18.

hmm ill have to check that....also would i have good numbers like that if my timing was off? and my engines bounces alot...so maybe the balance shaft or just cuz it wants to die every 2 seconds...kinda like the starting itself bounce....thx for the help so far...keep them coming
