At idle the vacuum on my boost gauge shoudl be between about 15 and 18 right?? Mine is aroudn 10. whats should I check for? Thanks

I-luv-em-all said:Also, if the motor is completly shot, you will get low vacuum. Do a compression test and see.

I-luv-em-all said:Burnt valves, worn rings will give you motor low vac. But all of those things will give you low compression results, which you obiously don't have. So start looking at other possiblities.
Edit: The motor is far from being "shot" at 180 compression across the board.
