What is your plan with your car? is it going to be a show queen or a street monster? BTW it wouldn't hurt to do some cleaning on the engine bay or the engine itself.

I want to make it more of a street monster of course, but have that show car appeal. No, not like body kits, and stickers everywhere. More stock outside, but a nice engine bay.

So that depends on what I have for funds to make it nice.


Must be different for you FWD guys. Everyone I've heard from says both axles need to come out on AWD to get the motor/trans out.


Yeah it was just the driver side axle I took out and then the driver side axle just came up with the tranny

Nice project. I want those tein coilovers! I wish I had the time to build my eclipse 6-bolt but it's my only car now. My other car needs an engine.
 
Ive heard alot of good things about the split thrust, supposidly they arent prone to crank like the standard 7 bolt. I gotta tell ya tho man you i woulndt have the balls to work out in the cold like that, i been waiting till its warm so i can get my car runnin. I guess you gotta do ### ya gotta do tho. Keep up the good work man.:talon:

That's true. The castings are made a bit differently and they got other various things that come with them 9:1 compression ain't bad either.

I heard the same about the crankwalk, but everyone car basically can crankwalk. These are just less of a prone to then the USDM 7bolt
 
Why did you sell the old engine? and then pickup another 7 bolt that is in a "unknown condition" from Japan. You should have bought a 6 bolt atleast, eitherway goodluck on the swap.
