The other threads didnt seem to strain out the step by step requirements im looking for thats why im posting.

my 6 bolt head needed to be machined had bent valves so instead iv found a nice ass built 7 bolt head in my price range

1.)anything iv read says its simple all you have to do is bore the 11mm holes in the 7 bolt head too 12mm to match the 6 bolt block, is that all it takes?

2.)other threads people are saying you have too bore them to 13mm?

3.)also theres people freaking out(no offense) about haveing too rewire your cam sensor is that true?

4.)my 92 tsi is all 1g what modifications do i need to do to put the 7 bolt head on my 6 bolt block?

thank you if its not to much hastle id appriciate it if you numbered the answers to my questions.

FYI:i already have 6 bolt arps installed

1. yes
2. I have personally never heard this
3. No problems here, although I'm using a 1g 7bolt head
4. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-engine-fuel/341625-4g63t-head-oil-port-mod-2-a.html
Bogus knows his shiat this is what I followed for my install.

I took my head to the local tool and die shop and had the drill them out. I gave them a headstud for measurement and had them make the one hole bigger to bogus specifacations. I then ported the oil passage that mates the block.

The 6 bolt runs a 12mm stud, then add some clearance and you have a 13mm head bolt hole.

The head bolt hole is 12mm in the 2g/7 bolt and uses a 11mm stud.

So yes, the 2g/7 bolt head needs to be 13mm for the use of the 12mm head stud that the 1g/6 bolt uses.

You will need the matching intake for the 2g head.

Since you will run your 6 bolt CAS you will not need to wire anything.

The rewire is done when a 6 bolt block is installed in a 2g, since that harness on some years runs a cam sensor on front along with a crank sensor. The 1g dose not have this set up, nor has the sensor mounting points.

To make sure we are clear on this -- there is no rewiring involved when using a 1G cam sensor in a 1G car unless you intend to use a 1990 CAS in a 1991+ car or vice versa.

Then, it isn't so much rewiring as it is putting the right connectors on the existing engine control harness for the CAS that will be used or hard-wiring it in if that's what is desired.

If you wanna have fun with that 7 bolt head, get yourself an evo intake manifold. You get to keep yer 1g throttle body and it fits the 2g head perfect.

You will want to find out what 7bolt head you are getting before you buy it. If it's a 1g 7bolt head, then it will fit your stock 1g intake manifold just fine. If you are buying a 7 bolt head off of a 2g car, then you will want to use a 2g intake manifold or an evo intake mani. The 1g intake manifold has bigger size ports than the 2g or evo.

thank you for clearing that up everyone exactly what i was lookin for but now i want to ask LOL. is the 1g 7 bolt head better than the 2g because a 1g intake mani. fits it?

The one g is arguably the best production dsm intake manifold, the 2g is good but has smaller runners feeding the intake ports in the head.

is there a way to get the 1g mani to fit on the 2g head? ### i think the one im buying is off a 96. mani.'s are expensive
