Ok here is my problem; I have a 1993 Eclipse GS, NON-TURBO,DOHC 2.0 4G63, automatic trans. I lost Overdrive in the auto trans, then decided to put the car in a ditch, so to fix all this I went out and bought a 1992 Chrysler Laser. The Laser has a 5 speed trans, NON-TURBO, DOHC 2.0 4G63.
Here was my plan; Take the motor from the 93 Eclipse and drop it in the 92 Laser... turns out the motor in the 93 Eclipse is a 7 Bolt and the motor in the 92 Laser is a 6 Bolt. The motor in the 92 Laser will not crank or I would be driving and not begging for help here.
The 6 Bolt Flywheel that is on the 5 speed trans (92 Laser) will not fit my 7 Bolt motor (93 Eclipse) and Mitsubishi wants around $500 for a 7 Bolt Flywheel. From everything I have read Flywheels from AWD & Turbo modles will not work with my FWD, NON-TURBO car. Is there anything.. ANYTHING I can do other than shell out $500 to Mitsubishi? I only paid $500 for the 93 Eclipse so I would almost rather slam my privates in a sliding glass door than pay what I did for the car for a Flywheel. Please oh please someone help this guy.
