7 bolt block and head oil galleys not lined up..

My new used motor is in and ready to start but I noticed the oil passages in the head aren't lining up with the passages in the block like they used to. This block is a 97 and my head is a late 98.. Any differences? The oil still drains through those passages but I can see the shiny block surface.. Normal?

Common, the head oil return ports are slightly off set from the block smaller return ports.
