6 bolt in 2G... oil galleys match up?

I am doing a 6 bolt bottom end swap into my 2G. My question is does any machining need to be done to the block itself pertaining to oil galleys or things alog those lines. Do any need to be welded closed, or opened up. I don't know and cannot find it searching so I am asking here. Thanks for your help.

If that's what you mean, you can't. You need to change blocks.

I believe your saying that your replacing the 6 bolt block with 6 bolt bottom end and keeping only your 2g head right ?

I am replacing my 7 bolt block with a 6 bolt block, I will be keeping the head off of the 7 bolt though. 6 bolt short block, with a 2G head, in a 2G.

no. they will bolt up without any machining. well, some have had experiences with the head bolt holes, where they need to be machined out 1 mm, to match the 6 bolt bottm end. but some have been able to just drop int he 7 bolt head without any problems.

THANK YOU!!! I read the page from RRE before, but I think it only requires machining when using the 7 bolt oil pump, whereas I will be using one from the 6 bolt.

, sorry. I thought you were only switching the block, and not the oil pump. Good luck with the swap.
