7 bolt oil pump in 6 bolt?

Okay like the title states. Does a 7 bolt oil pump fit on a 6 bolt block? Ive read through some threads but they did really answer the question. The reason im asking is because i was thinking about doing a six bolt swap on my rebuild and if the oil pump did fit (7 bolt on a 6 bolt) couldnt i just bolt the oil pump on and run my 2g sensors ect ect on the timing side? So basicly what Im asking is can you do a 6 bolt swap by just swapping the blocks?

No they aren't a direct bolt on. You have to weld up a bolt hole on the 7 bolt cover, fill in several holes on the 6 bolt block and drill new holes, extend an oil passageway on the backside of the oil pump housing, fill and drill a few new holes for the 7 bolt oil pan.

no, it does not fit. i wouldn't recommend trying to make it fit either.

No, just buy a 7 bolt oil pump.

the front case is not a direct fit, but if your just asking about the oil pump gear ( the drive and driven gear) yes those are interchangable along with the evo 8 oil pump gears. but the front cases are different(which is what is the most expensive)

i have 2g (7 bolt) drive and driven gears (oil pump) on my 6 bolt block in my 2g.
