I was just curious if any of you 2g guys have put the 1g Throttle body on with a smaller sized turbo? Did you notice much of a increase? I was just thinking you would probably see more of a gain on a larger turbo. Am I correct or will I see a nice gain even with the tiny 14b? Thanks!

I ran it on a T25. Yes there was a noticeable increase in the SOTP. Mostly midrange and topend, if that can be said for a T25. Very nice mod, good bang for the buck. Theory says no, reality says :thumb:

good info....I am going the same direction and wanted to know the same thing. im about to install a 14b and a 1st gen TB, then take the car to the dyno.
any idea what i can expect from the 14b over my t25?

I'm on the EVOIII 16G and after the 1gTB install I picked up a few mph with a slightly lower time in the 1/8th mile with similar 60' times. I would not say a hugely noticeable difference but for future mods, it's there and done.

It really isn't going to help much unless you port match the intake manifold as well, its just as big a downstep as it is at the TB just 2 inches closer to the IM.

A few MPH in the 1/8th is a huge gain for such a cheap/small mod....

I think what he said is he lost a few MPH in the 1/8 but made it up in the final 1/4. I'm doing a full six bolt swap with a 1G intake mani and 1G throttlebody... and the 14B. We'll see if it makes any gain, I've heard it should bring the top end up a little.

I only have an 1/8th mile track locally. (it is actually 60' short of 1/8th mile but thats another story) It is really hard to compare run to run on such a short track as 60' and shifting can impact times and mph. But I did run a FASTER time with a HIGHER mph with the only change being the 1GTB. Air temps might have been a little different between runs but it wasn't like summer to winter. Both runs were in the fall.
