60-1 vs. wh1c

Hey guys i have been trying all night to find the information on the forums I want to see and I found very mixed reviews so I figure I would just ask shear opinions and that is really all I need. I am installing my motor this weekend in my FWD laser..eagle/wiseco 9:1 all supporting mods. I currently HAVE a wh1c in a bep .55a/r housing with 12an return bolted to the engine right now..I could trade a friend for his 60-1 with the bep housing? At least I think it is part number is 715583-5005s..it is a dsm bolt on housing. Is there a couple different bolt on options for this turbo based on turbine size? I'm just not fully grasping it...I have NO E-85 around only straight 93 pump..I know both turbos have been talked to death but I have some pretty biased friends and all seem to lean for the holset..~48-52lbs/min..opinions on whether to get the 60-1 or not and I would like to see at least 450whp..which turbo will be the best in my situation to you guys? It will only be on 93 pump

That's a PTE turbine housing, not a Bullseye turbine housing. PTE DSM bolt-on housings flow somewhere below the realm of "poor".

715583-5005s is a T04S 60-1 mated to a Stage 3 turbine (T31) wheel. With the PTE turbine housing, you'll be LUCKY to see peak flow above 50 lb/min despite the compressor being capable of far more...and with enough boost, the thrust system will be very unreliable due to the turbine restriction (not that H1 turbos have a reliable thrust system by comparison).

It's up to you, but if it were me I'd stick with what you have over this dinosaur.

I agree stick with the Holset. There's nothing to gain by switching to the 60-1.

But like Jus mentioned, keep an eye on thrust play at higher boost levels. The H1 thrust bearing wasn't designed to handle the high drive pressure seen with .55 housings. Ask me how I know

I did read that somewhere on here and I also read on the holset threads about the drain not being up to par will Definetly not help the thrust systems. I purchased the rtm racing 12an drain and yes it somewhat worked it is a big headache as far as fitment on the h1c because the an fittings are too big and it hits the v-band compressor cover. I had to grind the AN fittings some to get it to clear and it's still a little shady to me. I was getting frustrated at playing with a .55a/r hotside to begin with but the funds are not here to go t-3 yet. I've been reading that 370-400whp is prob what to expect of of the h1c on the bep housing and I'm not really ok with that. I just figured the 60-1 flows around 60lb/min and it would be easier to hit my goal with that turbo than the holset. But justin def helped me out with the info on the pte housing
