6 month start up need advice!!

Hey well.... my 90 tsi awd has been sitting on jackstands for about 6 months....
Its time for me to start her up and get back into the Dsm world....
(Timing belt and balancer belt have all been changed)

Things ive done before i put my car up:

-Flushed and Changed Oil with full synthetic (has always been full synthetic)
-Fuel Stabilizer in full tank of premium fuel
-Took out the battery
-left windows open a small amount (mechanic told me it was somthing too do)
-Put car on jackstands with wood blockes in between
-Rad fluid changed

NOW.... any tips on start up????

I kno its a good idea to change the oil again I will also add favored Lucus oil Stabilizer to it.
Also gunna change the rad fluid.

Is there anything else I should do before i start my car??? I need as much advice as I can get i want my baby to purr just the way i did 6 months ago without any problems.

good or bad, i don't know... but i think i'd break it in a few miles before i go boosting around town. you almost might want to let it idle while checking for anything (leaks, sounds, etc).

glad to hear your getting back into your DSM again

on a side note, what's opening the window doing, relieving pressure from inside?

My cars out side covered in a tarp since i dont have access to a garage... sooo the weather out here is very unstable anywhere from -30, -40 in winter to like +10 in spring and such.... i think rolling down the windows a bit has somthing to do wit the weather or the presure not sure.... my machanic told me it was a good idea..

Let it idle, check for anything, and like someone said before, dont go bashing it. Let it warm up and cool down a couple times, nice short drives. Think of it as getting the car back in shape.

I understood that it is hard on the frame to leave a car on jackstands for long periods of time.

Leaving your windows down won't do anything except cause accelerated corrosion to your interior. I've had my car sit for very long periods of time and startup was never an issue. Just make sure before you start it up that your oil, and coolant levels are all ok. Once its idling, make sure you inspect under the car for any type of leaks that may have sprung up.

I also heard that its a good idea to pull the MPI and the Ignition and turn the car over the same way u would for a compression test (leaving the spark plugs in ofcourse) just to get oil flowing threw the system and 2 the turbo....

Good idea or not a good idea?

You could do this but it really won't make a difference. When the motor is turned over, either with or without the mpi fuse in, the crank and pistons will begin spinning without much lubrication (this is the nature of engine startup). So whether or not you choose to prime the system by leaving the mpi fuse out at first, it will make little difference because your engine (like all engines) will be oil starved for a split second before the oil pressure picks up. Some people recommend this but I have no idea why. Maybe it IS better to get it lubricated before combustion starts but that really doesn't make much sense to me.

I would change the oil or drain it and pour it back in through the top (if it hasn't been used) to get oil over the valve train and upper cyliners... right now i bet they're bone dry, and you dont' want to start with them like that.

It's only been 6 months, jeez. You guys are acting like it's been in a cave for 10 years. You don't need to change the oil or the coolant. Why would either of them be bad? As long as the levels are fine, just start the dang car.
