ok, I've been hearing the term "6 bolt" and "7 bolt" engine swap, I was just wondering what that meant and which one is better?

Thank you

6 bolt is better. dont get the 7 bolt. bolts have a much better had and are less prone to crank walk which is wht dsm's are know for. th difference is the amout of bolts on th crank. you can tell the difference because the 7 has a muc smaller intake manifold. ou cn go to VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions to reseach some mor

Wow. Spelling and punctuation please.

The 6-bolt vs. 7-bolt debate is on going. While I agree that the 6-bolt is "better" it's only because of it's connecting rod, thrust bearing , and oil squirter designs.

The 7-bolt on the other hand has better pistons.

The 6-bolt head has larger intake ports. The later 7-bolts (in 2g) came with a larger exhaust manifold and o2 housing.

And the debate goes on... and on... and on.

Unless you are going for big numbers, you can stick with a 7-bolt motor. Then you won't have to deal with wiring in the different sensors for the 6-bolt.
