Ok i purchased gst 6-bolt swap couple months ago getting this running right on it, ive noticed oil coming and dripping from looks like a oil line but it was kinda blocked off with a hose and a bolt and clamped on..yea shitty job. question is Whats the oil line for was it for the turbo or something? and whats the best way to block it off? Car Came with a 16g with a 2 install kit with the oil feed line going from turbo to the bottom off the car by the oil filter. Did this line come on the 6-bolt and they just blocked it off?? heres a picture

That's for the oil cooler. Antifreeze runs through it and into the oil cooler.

Looks like the same hose as the one in this thread - http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/297899-blown-hose-2g.html

sorry DGajr looks like your right i saw the other post looks like that SAME hose man, but mine has oil residue on it maybe something leaking on it??? Also why would they have blocked off that antifreze hose??

Ok need some opinion here on the picture up top...............also im having a oil leak dripping on the ground heres a picture where its dripping oil....the arrows on the OIL PAN are there because i also noticed fresh oil on the bold on about 4 of them like in the middle of the bolt.Theres also ALOT of im guesssing its gasket sealant all over eatch bolt mayb pan and gasket needs replacing??? And then theres the dripping of oil witch is seperate as you can see where it is...and i drew a arrow where i think its coming from like that little crease over there right next to it.. Any oipinion would be GREAT!

...I dont think thats a 6bolt. You got shammed. 1 its got a water cooled filter housing, 6bolts have an external oil cooler. 2 unless its a 2g head+1g block, you have a 7bolt intake manifold. 3, from the pics it looks like you have a 97-99 CAS sensor, meaning 7bolt. But he could of did our old method of machining a 7bolt oil pump to work with a 6bolt block and bolt a 7bolt head to it, that way you can use the 2g Crank sensor. Easiest way to tell if you got shammed, look down where the tranny bolts up to the block near intake goes over the turbo, 6bolts just look wrong there. 7bolt trannys have 5 mounting bolts holding it tot he block, 6bolt blocks only have 4 bolts so there will be one bolt hole in the tranny that doesn't get used. If everything mates up perfectly, you have a7 bolt and whoever sold you that car lied.

looks like your oil pan could be warped, pull down exsaust and pull down pan, grind down and put new gasket and sealent,if dont work get another oil pan and try that.junk yards usaully has one of those!!!!!!!!!!!! good luck.

Yea man no nobody lied its a 6-bolt block 7 bolt head....Had the tranny off already and confirmed thsi months ago.. Look at my profile itll tell you 6-bolt block built with 7-bolt bilt head have reciepts for all machined worked and talked to the company who did it. everythings good just taking car of the little oil leaks ect....

My guess is the o-ring that's in the oil cooler is what's leaking.

The Mitsu part number is MD620908.

Rather than guessing about the 6/7 bolt just check the pan.
Divot on the crank side of the pan=7bolt
No Divot on the crank side of the pan=6bolt
It's on 1000AAQ

Also check the oil filter stud. The cylindrical thing in the picture. It has a way of working itself loose. Even if the O-ring is new it won't help if it isn't torqued correctly. Be ABSOLUTELY sure you do not over tighten, it will crush the oil cooler.

91s and early 92s both had 6-bolts and water oil coolers.

Sam come on bro.. are you loosing your touch? My 6bolt has a water cooled oil filter housing. Only the 90's came with the external oil cooler! And to the OP yes that is the coolant feed line for your oil filter housing read through this post

Ok anyone tell me whyd they would block it off??? Well guys to clarify it IS a 6-BOLT block with 7-bolt head again i already confirmed it....6-bolt flywheel and oil pan is 6-bolt........ The oil filter stuf is located when you take off the oil filter right?

It could be that the coolant line is plugged and the cooler bypassed because the cooler is already cracked. Check to see if your oil loss is coming from the open lines from the oil cooler. Non turbo 1ga 2.0l cars have the 6 bolt oil filter housing/oil pressure regulator with no cooler, but also have provisions for the external oil cooler. (1gb's have this, too, but I don't know if it will fit a 2g)

Yea i see thats, snowborder. On my car on the those lines coming off the cooler theres a hose comming from one of those lines and it loops around and goes to the other line on the cooler?? is it supossed to be like that?
