Hey guys, I'm looking to swap out my 7-bolt block w/ a 6-bolt shortblock, but I want to keep the 2g head. The reason for this is ### my 7-bolt block is warped to the point where I've blown my head gasket twice in one year due to overheating.
Now I've looked it up all over the place and so far this is what I've found that I need:
6-bolt: Oil Pan,
Oil Pick up,
Oil filter housing ( I have a '90),
Rear main seal plate,
Timing belt Tension arm,
Timing tensioner,
water pump w/ bolts,
Timing belt cover,
Flywheel,
Trigger Plate,
Front Cover w/ bolts,
Lower Gasket Kit.
Modifications: 2g head stud holes to fit 1g stud holes.
driver's side 2g motor mount
Front motor mount? (I didn't find anything telling me this but I'm assuming)
Is there anything else that I might be missing or probably left out of my list? Also, if I use the 6-bolt trigger plate, am I still going to be using my 7-bolt crank signal or will I need to install a 1g CAS on my 2g head? And lastly, Do I HAVE to use 6-bolt idler and tensioner pulley or are they the same as the 7-bolt? I have to ask because where I found the list above, it never mentions that I need them, but my friend who owns a 1g Eagle Talon TSi says that I do. Please correct me if anything on here is wrong. TIA!
