Hey everyone I have a 95 Talon TSI. I'm getting ready to get a 6 bolt block and tear it down and do a fresh rebuild on it. I'm looking to eventually get up to the 400-500 AWHP with my talon. now I know I wont achieve this off the bat but thats what I'm building for.

Couple questions...

1) what are good pistons
2) what are good rods and bearings
3) what all does it take besides making head bolt holes 1mm bigger to put a 2g head on a 6 bolt?

Keep in mind this is going to be a daily driver but I want to build this up to 400-500 AWHP like I said so. just a few questions to help.

btw I do have Hard intercooler pipes and a 1G blow off valve installed and when I put the new motor together I already have Evo III 16g turbo with ported manifold. and will be putting on new walbro 255 fuel pump too with like 550 injectors. so just looking for some good build up hints. thanks in advanced everyone!

ok I'm slowly finding the info on which pistons and rods and bearing but I have yet to come across anything that talks about EVERYTHING needed to put a 2g head on a 6 bolt block. I want to know like almost a HOW-to so I know everything Im getting myself into. as far as turbo and fuel pump I already got that taken care of for now and I have a lot of little things needed but the main thing like I said was piston/rod combos (which I sorta found) and just that head question. but I can't find the info I'm looking for on that head quesion and I've been reading through pages of forums for past 3 days...sorry I'm new to the whole DSM thing but damn you know....I just want to learn and do it right the first time is all. and some help would just be nice is all. thanks.

Well like they said the search button works but with a 255 you are going to need an fpr you can get 400whp on the turbo you have but it will take some work also dsm link. If you are going for that kind of power i would also suggest larger injectors than the ones you have 660's 780's would be a much better choice. also if you have a 6-bolt the bottom end on it is good for 450 whp so you really don't need to worry about it unless you plan on doing some serious racing around. and since you have a 2g head try to pick up an evo 3 (itm) because it is much better than the 2g one unless you have a SM. last but not least skat rods and weisco pistons seem to be a popular mix in my area.

okay hey thanks for the info. i read over that page with the 2g head on 6 bolt block and the info is kind of what I expected as far as having to drill out the head stud bolt holes. but what about like cam sensors or oil pump and stuff like that or is it exactly bolt the head on and plug and play I'm just trying to figure out everything I need to do before I start the work you know. be down with my car as little as possible. thanks!

oil pump is bolted on and the can sensor only goes in two ways so if it doesnt work one way try the other. Or you can try to get a 1g cam sensor and wire it or just buy the harness from rre

Swapping in a 6 bolt means that you are aware that the 6-bolt has upwards of 500whp durability built in STOCK. :p

You'll need 'like 650s or more' for 400+ whp ;) . Keep searching. You'll get the recipe. It doesn't take a WHOLE lot with a 6-bolt.

See thats the thing I am getting a used motor and I'm not sure of the condition so thats why I'm going to rebuild it...and then I already have hard pipes 16g Evo iii turbo, with ported manifold, walbro 255 fuel pump. so I just need a fuel pressure regulator, and some injectors then probably just going to go with DSM Link. so I was just talking with this guy who told me something bout a oil pump wouldn't hook up right and something about the cam sensor or something from my 2g wont hook up right on the 6 bolt so thats all I was trying to figure out on here...I know I wont be right at 400 AWHP right away but thats why I've been reading on here and trying to ask questions so one day I can get there you know...well thanks for the help and we will see what happens in a little bit of time. as for now I'm at the hospital waiting on my dad's 14 hour operation so....back to sleep I go.

There is alot of information on the forums regarding the 6-bolt swap and what parts you need (also what modifications must be done). Here is a link to some information: http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/tech/1gina2g.pdf

But I also agree with what other people are saying about the injectors, you should definitely invest in some larger ones for your 400 horsepower goal. :thumb:

yea I'm either going to go with Evo Viii injectors or just find some 650's or 660's whichever they were....but yea just thanks for the help/info. I know 400 can be obtained its just I'm new to the dsm scene you know...I used to drive a shitty ass ford focus. LOL. so but I will check that link out and it wont be till I get that bottom end 6 bolt built b4 I will really need to know more but for now just trying to get a general idea of what all I need you know. so thanks everyone! but must say this car has already treated me better than that Ford ever did and its so much more fun to drive. LOL.
