hey everyone. I am still new to the whole DSM thing, so please excuse me if this has been repeated over and over again. because I am a new member I cannot search forums.

So I have a 97 GST and want to make some more power.

If i buy 560 evo injectors and a 16g turbo I can just install both and be all set?

would i need a tune or any other parts? thanks

In order to run larger injectors you need a tuning device/program that will alter the amount of fuel that is to be injected into the combustion chamber. Without one you will run extremely rich if the car even decides to run at all.

Being all stock for the most part there are other supporting mods that would benefit you much better now than trying to slap on a larger turbo and trying to run more boost.
Tech Guide: 2G 4G63t Upgrades - DSMtuners

If you haven't already done so, make sure all of your maintenance is up to date including a FULL timing belt job (belt, tensioner, pulleys). You don't want to skip teeth or have a broken belt that will jack up your head.

Please keep your BOV recirculated back into the intake until you either have a GM MAF in blow through mode or are able to utilize a speed density setup.

Keep your boost at or below 15psi on the stock turbo.
1. After 15psi you are out of the T-25s effiency range and will just be blowing hot air
2. You will shorten the life of that turbo for being out of it's range
3. Stock fuel system won't handle safely more than that

If you choose to get a 16g and still have a stock fuel setup (all stock until you have injectors, fuel pump, AFPR, and tuning device), keep the boost at or below 12psi (I tell people to stay at stock wastegate pressure).

A logger will be your best friend regardless if you are tuning yet or not. It will tell you exactly what is going on with your motor and when you do start tuning it is critical to see how everything is working.

Other than that, please do research before you buy anything and just research your vehicle so you know all about it. Also search before posting a new thread as this could have been easily found.

Being a new member doesn't limit you from searching. The red bar at the top of the screen that says "search" then click on "search forum" and you will go to this screen http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/search.php
Also in any thread you go into there is a quick search bar located at the top. Type in your key words, select "titles only" and you will have good results.

alright so im a little confused.

I rly want to look into the 16g but u lost me when u said somthing about a logger? what is that?

Try to start typing a little better as well with proper grammar and spelling. Rule #5 in the quick reply box and it's also something you agreed to when you signed up.

A logger is a device that is plugged into your vehicles diagnostic port and is able to moniter and give a readout of multiple functions going on within the vehicle. You'll be able to see in real time what RPM, speed, timing, IDC%, battery voltage, AFR, etc. etc.

Depending on your goals, you can get logger capabilities with your year ECU via EVOScan (IIRC) and you'll be able to flash your tune on it. ECMLink is also a tuning device and one of the best loggers for our vehicles as well (will need a '95 EPROM ECU). ECMTuning, Inc.

The 560's will work but your gonna need a tuning device to scale the injectors such as a A/F controller or Ecmlink and a wideband gauge to find out how rich/lean your motor is, you will also need a fuel pump(a Walbro 190 will do just fine for that, you will need a FPR if you run a Walbro 255). You can datalog with Ecmlink, but with a A/F controller(SAFCII for example)you will need a pocket logger and cable.

I ran an Evo 8 maf, Evo 560's, and a be316g, a/f was right on the money for a stock ecu.

Evo 8 maf reads 20% more air, Evo 560's let 20% more fuel in...

This was only ran for about 3 days before I tore everything back apart and went with MS.

since you're running a t25 it sounds like, you should try a 14b. i know they flow more air, and your stock injectors will work with it. how much power are you wanting to make?

You sir do not comprehend the meaning of the word tuner.

Just and fyi... you can't slap new injectors in a stock tuned motor and call it a day. The stock ecu/pcm/ecm will have no ####ing idea there is a different set of injectors until you let it know.

To properly tune you need some kind of tuning device, at minimum a wideband O2 sensor, Boost Gauge, and some kind of a data logger to tell you wtf is going on in your engine. Data loggers do what the name implies they make a log file of all data collected during a dyno run, drive down the strip, street, or track.

You had to compensate for them somehow. Injectors seem to be plug and play. You can just swap them without modifying anything. But, it tends to make the car run like ass unless you compensate somehow.

i run 650's with my 16g and i have a SAFC II as my tuning device which works good for the money. I would also suggest you get a upgraded fuel pump that way it will help your injectors recieve more fuel. But deff a good mod to start with and increase your power.
