^Yes, how do you get a sponsorship on a mostly stock car with little knowledge on how to build it? Who is the sponsor? They would want you to tell!!! Either way that's awesome man, congratulations!! Wish I had an extra 5k to spend on mine, would be gone instantlyLOL

Ya I saw it so do you actually have the money? Was that before or after they took your $140. Pic or it didn't happen.:nono:

There is no money, he has to find said part, tell them, and they will ship it. Then it goes to say you have to "make a video" of you sponsoring it, which can be done at your home (doesnt have to be at a car show). But at the bottom, it says you have to attend car shows.

This was me, I wouldn't f'in do it. Doesn't say anything about what happens if you don't sponsor it, you had to pay a FEE TO GET SPONSORED....WTF. This is beyond unrealistic to me.

Ditto and there ant diddly out here in oregon for that you need be like east coast LOL. Always read before you sign, you might just sign your soul away.:ohdamn:

Direct copy from said FAQ link - Yes. If you are willing to promote your new sponsored products to your friends, family and other enthusiasts then we are ready to ship you free products (of your choice) ~ even shipping is free. Depending on the sponsored amount for you get approved for ($500, $1000 or $2,000) in free parts, you will be given a product queue that will hold up to 9 products of your choice (from any online retailer) that range from $10 all the way up to $500.

When you get approved for.. I'm mentally kicking the OP in the shins right now. Now if someone can tell me this makes sense for a "sponsorship", please inform me. But till then, OP, your possibly getting screwed over.

Sometimes people got to learn the hard way, it's not that your being harsh but blunt to inform him "HEY this is some bs" LOL.

God no, I mean no disrespect to the guy in all honesty. I just wanted to let him know that I think it's a scam and I'm just trying to prove my point as to why. Not mad at the guy, we all make mistakes, but why someone is compelled not to read the fine print is kind of ridiculous. I hope it works out for him. But I also feel bad for him, I just don't see how it's legit in any form or possible way.

If anything, I'm more pissed off that a company (if its not legit) like this possibly exists.

140$ fee to get sponsored seems kinda backwards

go look at their facebook page - Bunch of pissed off people that paid 140$ and get carsponsors.com stickers... LOL

spent 15 min scrolling and yet to see anyone whose received actual parts

get your money back but from the looks of it they keep 40$ as an "application review fee" for looking at your application and billing your credit card LOL

cmon man gotta be smarter than that.

In most cases, sponsorships are companies that will give you their products to publicize around in car shows. Possibly a little cash but in most cases it's their products. So when you see a sponsor that lets you decide which you want, that's usually an alarm trigger for an iffy situation. When you think about it, a sponsor is there for publicity, so they need to get something out of it. My sponsor is my day job, I'm just the intermediate cash holder LOL My wallet always shakes in disaproval at purchases :p

That facebook page is aweful. The person they have responding to messages keeps repeating themselves no matter the question.

person:"Is there a catch to this?"
CS:"What email did you use for the application, its only $140 to get started"

person:"Is this the real deal?"
CS:"Have you filled out an application on our site? Its $140 to get started"

Talk about avoiding the question.

I LOL'd.

"Sponsorships" like this have been around forever, there are dozens of threads on this site about them, and we still have one person post about this seemingly monthly.

Haha I've known two guys that did this, they had late model cars, a honda civic 2dr and a 350z. I don't know if there was additional charges, but I do believe that had to have the roll call of the parts logos on thier car, They were 'show cars" so they got wheels, body kits, underglow and that kind of stuff. From what it sounded like was if you wanted a body kit they would send you one, I didn't think you could choose WHICH one.

I can't believe people still fall for this crap. No one just hands you $5000.00. It doesn't happen. I don't care what stickers you put on your car. The cars with FULL body paint for a specific product don't even pay that well. Is this what happens when we get so accustomed to a society that gives handouts with what other people work for?

Then they try to make you pay them? C'mon dude. Use your head.

If something sounds too good to be true: It ain't.

Edit: Actually, seeing how this is coming from a probationary that has joined within the month and has no real posts of any actual merit, this seems like someone that is in business with the company itself. Just saying.

Good point.
