4wd abs fuse?

Hey, I was roaming around in my fuse box in the engine bay, and I noticed that I didn't have a fuse (15amp) in the 4wd ABS slot. I have a 2g 1999 Eclipse GSX. Is there a benefit to not having a fuse here, for racing purposes, or did my shop mess something up.

Many people don't like the way abs takes the braking control away from you so they disable it by removing the fuse.

this is the only way to disable it other than removing the system.
All ABS does is allow you to steer when applying the brakes, which the average driver does not do that anyway so its actually pointless. I need to get rid of my ABS as well.

i've got the same thing going on, only not only is the fuse not in there.... but the fuse leads are missing.... i checked on my builders 97 GSX and he for sure has the fuse and the leads.... is this just a 99 thing? or did some previous owner take out my leads... there is no where to put the fuse in so it makes contact. not sure if its stock like that or if someone else removed it. any help would be appreciated.

Do you have abs? Because my 96 gst with abs is the same way. So I think all 2g gsx's have it with abs.

well yeah i think i have it... i mean when i start up the car the light turns on breifly and then turns off..... the wheels dont lock up when i stomp on the break as far as i can tell.... but there is NO fuse in there or lead to stick a fuse in there... i know the 99 comes with ABS standard

yup, everything is there except for the 4wd ABS fuse nothing else is missing or blown

ill try and take a picture, although im not sure how to upload a picture into a thread without having it attached to a URL

the fuse that is missing is the 10 amp fuse

My 98 N/T had the fuse missing, just replaced it though. Was about $4 at Autozone

So my 98 Talon AWD shell is missing those fuse-able links also. It has abs, and its an auto if that matters.

its not the fuze that im missing... its the LEADS that clip the fuze in so it makes contacts wit hthe rest of the electrical components.... i have tons of spare fuses man..

i bileve the 4wd abs is so that when your breaking on a turn it wont lock the wheels.... i think someone can correct me if im wrong, but you would think that it came with a leads inside the spot where the fuze goes

97 gsx auto with abs- did have the fuse

98 gsx manual no abs- obviously no fuse

are you sure yours has abs? you'll see an aluminum block under the power steering reservoir

Maybe an Auto thing? But my 98 Talon is AWD and auto with an LSD, has abs but no 4wd fuse or the 10amp either.

Odds are, one or more speed sensors is shot; that's the problem about 90% of the time. Only a MUT-II or better can read the codes. Say "hello" to Satan for me when you go to visit your local dealer.

Or do what a lot of people do: open the dash and pull the bulb.

yeah i think it is working i have a 40 fuze in ABS but nothing in AWD abs. i havent checked under the power steering res. as far as i know the ABS does work... i dont feel like they lock up on me. its just missing, id think the 99 GSX manual would have all the premo options. but then again maybe it doesn't work, my cruise control doesn't either

Evo scan will also check the ABS codes. It will also log it too.

so as far as i know, the ABS works on dry ground. seems to slip in the rain if i slam on the breaks..... i have rear LSD.... still no real answer on what to think about this missing fuseable link..
