4wd abs fuse?

Hey, I was roaming around in my fuse box in the engine bay, and I noticed that I didn't have a fuse (15amp) in the 4wd ABS slot. I have a 2g 1999 Eclipse GSX. Is there a benefit to not having a fuse here, for racing purposes, or did my shop mess something up.

ok tested... ABS works..... and there IS a silver pump like thing so im guessing thats the power steering pump, i have a pic but i dont know how to post it on here... it asks for a URL

power steering pump runs off a belt. it's above the generator.

abs is behind/under the driver's headlight.

yeah thats what i ment its not a pump... but it looks like one, its a silver dealy behind the driver headlight... so if thats all there... why the hell is the fuze leads gone?

So we know that it does not matter if its an AWD Auto or Manual with or without the LSD...

None seem to have it.

well it wouldent be there for 4wd ABS labeled and everything.... but with no leads to even put a fuze in if no one had it.. someone has to have it or know what it does.... there are 2 ABS fuses but only one is 4WD.... so no if u dont have an AWD.... its obvious you wouldent have the 4WD ABS lead or even the indication that there was this fuze.... but since i do have AWD.... and ABS... im curious as to why this one is missing still...

Well look at your gauge cluster sometime. There are a shot ton of unused dummy lights in there.

yeah..... true... BUT my car HAS ABS... AND AWD.... so what the hell....

Mine has Awd, auto, abs, and LSD rear... It doesn't either, so your not special.... That's the point of the thread.

just checked. 99 gsx 5sp w/ abs------ no fuse

if I have time I'll compare wiring diagrams and see maybe the abs just piggybacks off another fuse

that would make sense... as the ABS (not 4wd abs) is a 50amp...

Honestly if your car is ABS and you have tested the system and it is working. These boxes are casted identical no matter what gsx it's going in. If your car seems to be working and the ABS is engaging and the car is running normally I would take no serious concern to the issue. It may just be a different option, or vehicle manufacturing date thing.

The issue is where the ABS ECU gets its power on the cars that don't have a low-amp fuse (nor the wiring); we know his ABS is working.

I haven't had a 2G for several years, so this is coming from a memory system that lived through the 1970s, but I want to say that it gets it from the cabin fuse, just like the main ECU, on the later-year cars.
