hi guys
I have two engines, one 4G64 8V with broken head and a 4G64 16V SOHC with broken balancer shaft bearing. So I thought of transplanting the 16V head on the engine block from 8V? Is it possible, will it fit just plug and play or some mods are needed?
I know I can simply remove the balancer shafts but I don’t want do that.

There is a good write up in this forum, but you will have to search for it, from the info, the compression will go up quite a bit, due to piston design and smaller combustion chamber of the 16 v head i dont remember if maybe some cooling passages have to be modified.
It would make a nice N/A engine.
