Due to the fact that the forum rules here are so restrictive for lurkers, I am posting here to ask if there is anyone willing to correspond via PM / Email / Posts with working knowledge of MSQ files for Megasquirt and various modifications available for it.

I have a solid working background in electronics and everything I have is working thanks to forums like this and excellent search features, but I want some direct lines of communication outside of this forum with folks that have done the same thing in the DSM world.

My Current setup is:

1995 Mighty Max
1993 ### spec 4g63T
Big 16g
Fuelpump out of my 6.0 GTO
Yellow top 510cc injectors
Spec 2+ clutch/pressureplate
mighty max manual 5 speed
Megasquirt I SparknExtra pcb 3.0
Custom Harness
JMF Intake
Tubular exhaust manifold
3" Custom o2 downpipe

Thanks for your time.

I have a few questions for you.

1) What water neck did you use off the back of the block
2) Did you have to move the motor forward or have to do any cutting to allow for fitment of the CAS & waterneck

I thought that looked like Hwy 90 you were cruisin down. Nice. Too bad it isn't a 4x4 truck, that thing would be sick!!

It's pretty fun now... 4x4 would be better, but it is a bottom dollar build and works pretty well.

Thanks for the comments.

I used the original waterneck that points straight up off of the original 2.4 and I used a 10 pound maul to shape the firewall back in the area about 2 inches.

The truck now has 650cc injectors, some traction bars that are properly snubbed, and a much more dialed in tune.

It is a handfull and very fun to drive.

I realize this is a old post, but I wanted to give an update to anyone that was following.

Truck is still running and driven every so often. It does have a FMIC and is tuned for 21PSI on pump gas. 93 octane all gas no ethanol or methanol.

It barks more than second. It will spin in 3rd from a roll on. I have a Limited slip diff in it with 3.73 gears. Since adding the old school traction bars and snubbing them correctly to the leaf springs, it launches pretty well and has zero wheel hop.

I still have not had it to my local drag strip, but I will and it will be on video.

Thanks for any interest.

Here's a video of me testing it...

Thats a awesome Mighty Max truck, great job :thumb:

Well, I made a custom harness using the a Megasquirt to control ignition and fuel. I built all of it from components and tuned it myself with a LC1 wide-band and Megatune software.

I literally did everything as cheap as I could since this was just a stepping stone to learn what I wanted to learn for my next build. Fun truck though. Surprises EVERYBODY!

It was my first standalone spark and fuel computer and first fuel injected engine with a turbo too.

My current project is an 86 Monte Carlo SS with a LM4 4.8 out of a GM truck and a Master Power T76 with a reversed exhaust manifold hot side build.

Josh, be sure to check hotrodcoffeeshop.com forums to talk to Jeremy and others that have done this same build many times. Most of them are on here too, but it is a great resource over there for this specific build.

Thanks for the interest!

Megasquirt PCB is on my bench undergoing some minor upgrade surgery at the component level.

I am doing the flat-shift mod / launch control mod so I can build boost off the line and never lift when shifting while keeping anything from exploding from over rev or hard shifting.

Tested function on bench and plan to put it back together and in the truck this weekend.

Will video the test for posterity.

How much hp do you think the tranny will hold up? Im doing something similar but hesitant about using the mighty max tranny, I dont want to fabricate stuff if its not going to hold for long, looks good, good job.

The consensus among folks that have done this is somewhere around 350+ will hold up unless you try to use 5th gear at WOT. There are multiple stories on the swap forums of 5th letting go under heavy load.

I don't worry about it because I have 3 spare transmissions and don't do top end 5th gear runs, but you can always do the adapter plate and run a Turbo350 GM slush-box or a Powerglide.... Not to mention the Toyota Supra tranny swap.

projectzerog.com is where to go on this particular swap and for all the sources familiar with it.

Nice build! Can't wait to have my MM up and running :)
