Ok so just rebuilt my engine and for whatever reason the bushing for my oil pump gear is rubbing on the front cover. Anyone have any clue as to what is causing this and how to fix it? It wasn’t rubbing when I first put everything back together.

    Maybe something is on backwards?

Is this a 1g or 2g? Do you mean the oil pump drive gear (part of internal oil pump) or the oil pump sprocket the timing belt goes around?

The gear that’s rubbing the case is the balance shaft not the oil pump. That was my mistake guys. Sorry about that

If it's the one the timing belt goes around, that's the oil pump sprocket (connects to the oil pump drive gear inside oil pump housing). The rear balancer shaft connects to the oil pump driven gear (inside oil pump housing) and has that 6 sided star pattern cover plug on it on the outside (next to the oil pump sprocket). So do you still say the balance shaft is rubbing the front case? And you know this because why? Did you have the front case off? Or do you have a stub shaft in place of the balancer shaft or ...?

Haven’t done the balance shaft delete. And the bushing is what’s rubbing you can see the wear marks on it. Pics attached

Oh you're talking about the front balance shaft (I thought you meant the rear). Can you still turn the sprocket easily by hand when B belt isn't on? Did you replace the front case recently?

Before it broke the belt on me yes I could roll it easily by hand although that is not the case anymore.

Also just learned that I’ve got zero compression on #1

It broke the B belt? Is the timing belt still ok and timed correct? If not, you may have bent the valves which can cause 0 compression.

Yeah The timing belt was unharmed but I’m pretty sure I’ve got bent valves. And multiple at that

If the B belt broke and got tangled up in the timing belt, the timing belt may have jumped teeth causing valve damage.

Yeah... so I’m currently in the market for a full set of valves and springs if you know anyone.
