im new here , im wondering if some one can tell .. DO YOU HAVE A 4G63T HERE IN US . THAT USE MAP(MANIFOLD AB PRESURE) INSTEAD OF A AIFLOWMETER ...? guys can you help me .. i saw some intake manifold before , that has a map sensor for ... i think its a 2nd gen intake manifold 4g63 (dnt realy saw if its a turbo or na )... wasnt able to retrive that site again .. any body knows which car model that uses map sensor on a 4g63 ? is there any? im a little lost here ? :):):)

the 2g turbo does use a MAP sensor but it is an emissions control and you dont really need it. it meters air with the MAS.

so the one i saw has an airflowmeter (maf) with a map sensor .. do you have image of this . that i can look at .. :sneaky:

wow ... that was fast .. thanx guys ... so its a mdp sensor .. hahaha my bad :toobad: .. prety much looks like a map sensor to me .... :D so the only way i can remove the airflowmeter is by using a aftermarket ecu .. ? i realy want that out ... :thumb: and another thing ... are you guys familiar with the 1g ecu 8618 with eprom .. is it tunable like crome or something like that ?

I think DSMlink will support a speed density set-up.

Not yet it won't. AEM EMS is the most common engine management people use that has speed density. There are many other standalone systems you can use that support speed density.

you learn something new every day.

mokstuning, what set up are you running that you dont want to run a MAS?

1g rs engine .. reason that i want to eliminate mas is air restriction :D .. :thumb: i need a little education here .... things is kinda slow where i came from ..

fyi : engine set up

1st gen rs engine
evo 3 piston
evo camshafts
na(eci) intake manifold
70mm tb
tdo5 16g
1bar
fuel tune by (vafc)
510cc

264hp 234trq
planning to break 300hp .
any sugestions ? im replacing the tdo5 16g with a gt35 .68 turbine .
dont have any idea if the gt35 will work with just a vafc ?

You may want to look at DS-MAP will let you switch to a map sensor and ait sensor. I have just ordered all the stuff to try it. It is alot cheaper than EMS the software is free all you have to buy is the sensors and an Ostrch.

You can hit 300 on your turbo now, you just need more boost and a good tune. A 35R for 300 whp is overkill.

could he wire in a 2g mas into a 1g non-turbo? I know people have done 1g turbos, but I don't know about non-turbos.

yah , i know its kind a overkill .. but where getting ready for upgrade .. and this slugs is the first .. heres a picture of the car ... it has a 1st gen 4g63t under the hood .. :thumb:

I used a different ECU to change to speed density, but if you're looking for a lower cost option, HKS makes teh VPC (vein pressure converter) that eliminates the MAF meter changes to a MAP sensor.

They aren't the best tuning tool, but it is the easiest cheapest way i know of to go fool your ECU into running as a speed density system.

:dsm: first time on the track .. ran 12.7et full interior (only pasenger seat removed) what do you think guys ,, is it :notgood: or :thumb:

turboglenn .. where can i get this VPC ? ... do you know of someone selling this used or new ? :)

I think it's road race or Bushcur that has tehm, other than that just Google it. HKS VPC, it can also be put in line with an SAFC so that you can convert and use some fuel fine tuning
tools as well. but to spend all that if you're serious about performance enought o want the MAF meter gone you need to step up to some decent management IMO.

Even something from Simple Digital Systems EM-4 and check out a few of their systems, very simple, no laptop needed and full stand alone. Although you'd be better of just keeping teh MAF meter and going to DSMlink for management.
