I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T, I have a Haynes book but it does not tell me what type of transmission fluid i should use on my car. Also it is a stick shift with 130k on the vehicle. This will be the first time I'm changing my transmission fluid. Just need to know which one to buy. Any other helpful tips will be appreciated. Thank you.:dsm:

I use 50/50 of Syncromesh and Light Weight Shockproof.

Will Mobil 1 75-90 synthetic blend be good?

It's fine if you don't like to be able to shift. Why not use a reccommended GL-4 fluid like Redline MT90? Any GL-5 like you are suggesting is going to make it near inpossible to hit the next gear quickly during high rpm shifts.

I use redline mt90 in the trans and tcase and redline shockproof in the rear diff. You may want to change the fluid drive for a few thousand miles and then change it again. Get the nasty oil with lots of miles out then put some fresh stuff in to clean out the rest of the old fluid and then change it again to have nice clean trans fluid.

i can attest to the poor quality of cheap stuff. it shifts ok but not great at all. i used 75-90 non synthetic. im switching to mt85 after my ecu and link gets back in the car

I picked up 3 qts of Redline M/T 85 at O'Reilly's for about $75 and it seems to shift really smooth compared to whatever the previous owner used which came out black 1st time I drained and I filled it with only 2 qts mt85 and drained again and fluid then was light brown the added 1 qt and drained clear. Filled with fresh 3 and feel good about it
