Ok guys I need help. Searched and didn't see anything that I'm experiencing. Drove my car today and this morning it ran fine. A couple hours later I drove it again and it started out fine then suddenly it just started sputtering and would randomly make a pop noise out of the exhaust (backfire). When I stop the car idles like shit but stays running at about 800rpms. Take off and it just sputters but the speedometers climbs like normal. Then it stopped and ran fine for a quick second then started doing it again. Anyone have any ideas? Or at least a starting point? From my search I'm gonna check my plugs tommorrow Idk maybe one or more fouled out. Sorry its so long guys trying to be as descriptive as I can. Thanks all.

i had this problem before. A spark plug electrode and broke off. but after replacing the spark plugs, it still had the same issue every once in awhile. Replaced the coilpack, no change. it eventually went away by itself.

i would suggest changing the fuel filter, and putting some gas treatment to remove water from the gas. if i had to guess that would be what was causing it. I'm not positive, mine went away on it's own, which makes me think it must have been bad gas.

Ok quick update guys. Bought new plugs, cleaned and oiled my cold air filter, didn't replace the wires yet. Anyway went to pull my front o2 sensor out to check it out and the wires just popped right off. So I got under the car to check the other o2 sensor and the wires on it were attatched but loose. So I replaced the o2 sensors as well. Problem solved. I'm assuming it was the sensors and not plugs since the wires just popped off. Anyway, thanks for all the help guys I really appreciate the feedback and helpful responses.
