okay so before i posted this i tried to find my answer but couldn't.

So my 420a has about 170k miles on it, the body is in excellent condition but i dont want to just junk it, it's my baby haha.

I wanted to install a rebuild 420a engine into, I was wondering since i'm going to do that should i just replace the current auto transmission with a manual, would it be easier and less expensive if i did it, since i'm taking out my old engine anyway?

and if anyone has done this, a new rebuild engine and manual transmission swap, how much exactly did you spend, just so i know what kind of ball park i'm in.

thanks in advance for the answers!

Here you go;

2GNT.com - ATMT

And generally the best/easiest/cheapest way to do this is with a donor car. So it would be up to the cost of the donor car, to figure if the cost is worth it.

thanks for the replies, 3500 or under is definitely doable, that website is very helpful thanks!

Thats if you want to do the wpork yourself. I have fouind some pretty good 420a engines already built up for around 1500-2000. Then I have seen some racing trannys for arounf 800- 1500.
Just matters on what you want to do.
