I finally got the engine back together and in. Started it and was letting it warm up; I added a gallon of antifreeze and was getting another and noticed antifreeze bubbling out the radiator. I capped it off and my hand was covered in new motor oil. I shut

It off and checked the oil...there was no oil on the dipstick, but the water outlet was full of brand new motor oil? I used a completely stripped block from junk yard and the head off my car. somebody had taken a few bolts out of the oil pump

But i replaced them with the ones from my block. What could cause this? Sorry I'm using my cell phone and can't type much at a time.

I looked over the block, but didnt have it checked. There were a few bolts missing from the oil pump, which I replaced with bolts from my block. Other than that, most seals were new. If it were something in the block you'd think there would be water in

In the oil pan as well, but within a few minutes most of the oil was in the cooling system. It makes me wonder if the oil pump might be the cause? I've got about $500 tied up in this build, so hopefully I can figure it out without putting any more into it

You could have a cracked block, could be a bad Headgasket, could be a warped head or block (more likely the head) Those are the usually the main culprits for oil in the water.

I think I figured it out today. I looked at my old block, and there are 2 oil delivery ports and three returns. One of the delivery ports dead ends right beside the troublesome head bolt on the driver's side rear. I tried re-torquing the head but that

didn't fix it. I'm going to order a new head gasket and bolts tomorrow. I'd like to fina a composite gasket somewhere, but NAPA doesn't show a listing for one. If I have to use another MLS gasket I'm going to coat it with copper seal and shorten the two

end head bolts. I wonder if a grade 8 washer would work rather than cutting the bolt down? I hate to tear it back down after coming so far, but it is what it is. I'll post when I get it fixed.

If i were u i would get the head Magnaflux and check for Warpage, since u are going to take it off anyways...

P.S. U can also get a strait edge and move it along the top of your block and use a feeler gauge to see if your block is some what true........
