I need some advice for my fuel rail on my 420a engine its 98 so my question is im upgrading my fuel line to 3/8" so can i add a -6AN fitting to my fuel rail by removing/cut the stock infeed tube and welding -6 bung on there or could i patch up that tube and put the bung of one of the ends, does the location really matter? Thanks in advance

Yes you can cut that small end off and weld a 6an bung there.

Also what really matters is where you have the fuel pressure regulator. If you put it before the fuel rail with the fuel rail being the end of the line you could experience pressure drop issues (this is from various aftermarket fuel pressure regulator manufactures)

What I did on mine was put a 6an on either side. The fuel line comes from the tank into the passenger side of my fuel rail, out the drivers side where it then goes into the FPR, then returns to the fuel tank via the stock fuel line.

Here are a couple pics. I don't seem to have any good close ups...

I ran 6an line from the fuel sender up to the passenger side of the fuel rail. Comes out of the fuel rail on the drivers side and into the FPR. From there it goes into my GM E85 sensor and then into the stock fuel line which is now being used as the return line and is plumbed as such at the fuel sender

dsmcrzy did you tig weld or brazed the fitting on the fuel rail i tried tigging it but i got pinhole air leaks all over the weld
