I suscribe to hotrod magazine and i saw this ad for an upgrade for gm MAFs. Since we DSMers can use GM MAF translators why should we limit ourselves to stock GM MAFs when they make ones that outflow the stock GMs by 41%.

check em' out!

If your gonna shell out the bucks for a new GM MAF you might as well spend another hundered for another 41% of flow.

Has anyone done this before or am I the fist to think of this?

my friend has one of those on his TA, and it helped a little bit. they look cool to.

give it a try and see how it works on a DSM.

Ok, ill be the guinea pig if you'll be my sponsor :p

Otherwise you guys will have to wait till I get a better job :thumb:

The LS1 MAF is already good as it is and you can even have the screens taken off if you want something to mimic what the Z06 has. The key does not lie in it though, it's on the tuning.

I taken off my screens on my C5's MAF and did not gain any HP. Same with when I used an aftermarket MAF (like the Granatelli) which looks like those on the link.

I will rather spend the money buying tried and true power mods like a new turbo, better FMIC or better management or tuning equpment. 400 bux and get a measly 4 HP gain is not my idea of modding.

I was thinking this would be a good idea for serious dragers looking for that extra advantage. Obviously there are better ways to spend 400 bucks to make bigger HP. But for those guys like john shepard running 37psi I could see how this could help bring some serious hp increases by flowing these huge volumes of air more efficiently. All the small things count when your dragging, a few fractions of a second faster and shep would have beat vinny ten's supra.

nah you are looking at it all wrong. Ideally you want a MAF that is just a tad bigger than the nominal diameter of the intake piping. Every time you change that diameter you add drag to the system...

For a DSM really a 3" is plenty
