Ok Imwaiting on my GM maf and translator to come in. I know I need something to tune with. Im trying to get a safc2 but I know i could use a wideband also. My question is will the safcbe good by its self or no I have to run a wideband along with the safc?

3.5"gm maf(translator also if needed with link)
full 3" exhaust
walbro 255
stock sidemount with all hard pipes
stock turbo(14b)
2g exhaust mani
wideband
DSMlink V2.5

no ones mentioned it...but you need to add an AFPR for that 255 otherwise you'll most likely over run your stock regulator

never heard of that. My TSI had a walbro 255and stock fpr and it was fine. stock fpr can with hold up to 500hp if i remember right

well the wideband will tell you how the airfuel ratio is doing and the maf t you can tune to a point, but the safc will help you fine tune, that is what i am running takes some time especially when weather changes but once you get it down tuning is easy, but a data logger of some sort is a must so you dont ruin anything

Quick dumb question. The BCS I can completly remove and just run a linefrom WG to the nipple on the J pipe correct?

Yeah I had it that way on my 2g TSI(but it came that way when I bought it) I will be installing a MBC in place of the BCS. Rally is it a must to get a afpr? I had a walbro 255hp on my TSI with stock fpr, fmic, vented bov, tdo5 20g stock injectors, full 3" thermal exhause running approx 10/12lbs and it ran amasing. It actully ran better that way than it did when I out 720cc injectors and a ecu tuned by Jester.

oh go to bed, your car will never be fast JuGs LOL. im playin with ya man. hey bump my shit up for more views and replies

Ok I got my maf-t and what not in today. I need help I searched for 2 hours. Supose to practally be plug and play. Looks like it was cut and rewired, but the wiring looks wrong. It is missint theconnector for the maf connector(stock on not for the GM) and the wires for the connector to the GM mafdont look to be spliced right.

The GM maf connector has 3 wirescomming out of it, black, pink, and yellow. the black is supose to be ground bit its spliced into one of the 2 black wires from box. I thought the other wires were spliced wrong also but i see the extended the wires with random wire. Now isthe ground wire comming from the GM maf plug supose to have a 2nd wire comming off from it or isit just a 2 wire plug wotha ground? Heres a few picutres

I think I found something that will help me. If I have issues I will post here. May take a few days

Ok I might actully have a chance to work on my car this weekend. I havent got a wideband or safc/link yet. Can I still run the GM maf and maft just by itself? It wont be driven until I get a wideband and tuning devise(except like 30 feet to back it out and park it). Also what setting should all the dials/switches be set at with everything stock and blow through style?

im actually doing the same exact thing you are doing. i put my safc II yesterday and i just received my gm and maft today. if you have stock injectors and fuel pump. i think its safe to say just zero all the dials. 1 off 2 off 3 on 4 off. ive been reading your thread and i have a data logger, but from what everyone says im going to get a wideband also. all this just to vent a damn bov LOL.

btw since your wires are cut how are you going to plug the stock mas plug to the maft?

I bought a intake pipe with a 1g mas on it I broke/cut off the connector on the mas and gonna wire it to that so itsplug and play again.

heres a picture of what Ihave done so far. I still need to extend wires solder them and heat shrink

there are soo many different things to tune with... i want ecm link.. someone ### just tell me what i need to do this.. i have a good amount of mods. including 255 pump 72injectors and much more. but i have a 3in gm maf now... if i want to ecmlink it what do i need to purchase??? or can i put a stock maf in??? and then tune it??? whats the best route

you said you have the control box for the gm maf in your profile is that maf trans? And if so then go with v-3 lite and keep the maf t. If you dont have maf t then you will need to get full v-3 version and buy the gm maf cable
