Can anyone post picks of their 4 point harness install? Is there a VFAQ on it?

thats mine on a stock seat, basically i just took out the bolts where my stock seatbelt was attached and bolted it on there, and in the back i used the bolts that hold the rear end of the seat down. To keep the straps over the sholder i built a little thing outa fabric that the headrest goes through and then it loops around the straps. I know this isnt extreamly descriptive, if ur interested just pm me and ill try and explain more.

all the instructions i've read about harnesses, say that the rear belts need to be at an approx 45 degree angle, and NOT bolted to the back bolts of the front seat (like pictured above). they should go to the backseat seatbelt bolts if anything. something about if you where in a collision they would crush you downward becuase of the force of the impact. a friend of mine is big into SCCA/Autcrossing, and some tracks wouldn't even let you run with them bolted straight down like that.

if you plan to compete, check the rules & guideline. also, i'm sure that CROW RACING has some instructions on their site & more info on this subject.

Milkey, I don't think that is the safest way. Think about this during an impact the belts are right up against the back of the seat. Momentum will throw you forward, and the belts will put a ton of force on the back of the seat, causing the seat to break and the seat back to go with you on your trip to the steering wheel.
The way's I've seen is attaching them to the rear seat beat mounts. Not the one up top by the C pillar, but the lower ones in the seat. Or you could get a harness bar. For a 3 PT harness I've seen it mounted up in the C pillar rear seatbelt mount.
Hope this helps.

My Install: Sparcos Torinos with 4 point Sparco Camlocks. The rear points are the same as the rear belt mounting points. The 45 degree angle of the belts in relation to the driver is the recommended mounting postion in many sanctioning bodies.

Where dd you install the side/bottom (hip) belts? Why does the passenger Torino have the the little knob to tilt it on the driver side rather than on the door side?

Does anyone know how big a box of wear a Torino or any other Sparco Racing seat comes in is? I ask because shipping to Puerto Rico is expensive so i am thinking of shipping it to my office in PA and bringing it with me on the airplane as a checked in bag. I believe their limits are close to 100 total inches (LxWxD) and a max of 50 lbs per bag... so the two setas would be my checked in bags.... what do you guys think?

If they are installed like that though, what do you do for the passengers in the back seats?

Is there another alternative to mounting them?

you are just asking to get messed up really bad if you get in a wreck, that is just about the worst way to mount them

The hip belts mount in the stock locations. On the torino the tilt lever is on both sides of the seat.

I dont let rear passengers ride in the Evo. There are belts that unsnap at a y point if you want to lay them down for the passengers. The stock belts are still in the car as well.

Can you confirm the box size and weight of the Torinos? Just wondering if I can take advantage of free shipping within the US and then bring them with me on the airplane trip to Puerto Rico.
