Ok my friend keeps bothering me about the 3rd gen eclipse he says its a dsm and i say its not ..... so what do you guys say

Let's not open this can of worms... The debate over 2Gs being DSMs is as old as venting, FPRs, or even rice. Everyone has thier opinions on that. BUT the only time you'll usually hear anyone say a 3G eclipse is a DSM is when they are the ones who own it.

Look at this way.

1. 3G does not have a 4G63 or 420a
2. It does not have a mopar sibling.

I'm willing to accept the GVR4 as a DSM before the 3G and it was never even produced in the US. In all honesty the 3S has a better chance of being considered a DSM than the 3G eclipse does.
