300whp turbo?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

A 14B is the best turbo for the job if you are looking for a fast spooling 300whp capable turbo. Not to mention the reliability is hard to match.

Supporting mods:
- Wideband
- Walbro 190 fuel pump
- Punishment or VRSF FIMC
- 650cc injectors
- ECMLink V3 Lite
- Aftermarket exhaust(at least 2.5 inches)

A 14B at 19-21psi should be moving enough air to get you at or above 300whp. With a good tune, that is.

Would an FP big28 still flow a little more than a 14b?

You can achieve over 300 hp on a dyno tune with the stock injectors, wally 190, a 16g, an safc and supporting mods (intake. exhaust, boost controller and so on). I did.

or you could try the disco potato:thumbup::D

stock injectors can make it there and a little over with the proper tuning. You can make them flow more buy increasing fuel pressure. Then simply log and tune.

The biggest part of getting there is going to be your tune. 14bs have a good reliability rep and with good porting would have no problem getting you where you want to be.

LOL a 14b? Small 16g? ANYTHING but a t25 will get you there.

So, a 14b or small 16g are capable of breaking (passing) the 300 WHEEL hp mark on a stock block 4g63? Doesnt seem right at all....

Ive seen alot of dyno graphs of big16g's not breaking 300hp.....

Nobody mentions how these turbos would get there.

OP, what fuel will you be running? <-- important.

edit: it's not like you're going to be driving around with race gas all the time...are you!?

93 with a 14B can break 300. If you go with a water meth kit along with a FMIC with a 14B you can easily and safely scoot across the 300 WHP mark

Rewired wally 255, adj fpr, 660's and 93 pumpgas on dsmlink.

My plan is just good intake/filter, slightly larger fast spooling turbo, fmic/hard ic piping, ported 2g ex mani, 3" tbe and tune and hope to pass 300 wheel hp.

What is the most hp youve seen from a big t28 on a stock 4g63?

A Big-T28 will get you to your 300 hp goal with no problem. Not to many people run them so there isn't a whole lot of dyno results out there like an MHI 16g. However, that being said, with a good tune and the right supporting mods, I don't think 350hp is unobtainable.

I have an FP Big-T28. I have never dynoed it because I've never had the car together long enough to get it to a dyno. But I an very happy with it. It spools fast and pulls very hard at only 18psi with nothing more than a good base tune and a slightly leaner AFR than stock. The only reason I am replacing it is because it I've upped my goals to 450-500whp so I am going bigger.

Oh, really? Easy huh? You've done this? You do realize that even our top 14b drag guys are making just over 300 right? Personally when someone asks for a turbo that can make a number I don't suggest one that can only do it at it's very peak. 300hp even with meth injection on a 14bdsm is far from easy, it's hardly easy on race gas.

OP, are you looking to have a maxed out setup at 300 or would you like to make that and have room up top?

If I remember correctly the T28 flows a little bit less. I would stay away from them, personally.

Both a 14B and a small 16G could be had for less money then a "Big" T28

A Big t28 flows a little more than a small 16g. way more than a 14b. A new 16g is way more than a t28 but I dont think FP still makes the T28 either.

I think the fp28 is gone...

I run it and low boost when I first got mine (16 psi)I got 235/269 but I ran 106mph on 19-20psi
I like it smog reason and the quick spool but now it feels slow...:(

No I am not looking for a turbo that maxes out at 300whp, just one that can get me to 300whp on a stock block with intake exhaust intercooler and tune, BUT will also be able to break 350whp (hopefully 400 :D) on a built, cammed, maybe stroked 4g63.

s16g man.... you will get mid threes on 15-20 pounds

Small16g? If I were to go the 16g route I'd probably want the biggest 16g. Hopefully more and more people will say pf bigt28 so I dont feel so bad for wanting one haha.

Yep, I'd say Evo III 16g, it simply has a ton of potential and 300 hp is doable with a well sorted (see maintained) car with proper bolt-ons and a tune on pump. The T-28 would get you to the 300 but won't leave you the room for improvement your looking for. However, neither turbo is easy to get new right now and the Evo III price skyrocketed with the Tsunami thing. If you're willing to find a good used one you can go that route but no one likes to buy a used turbo and find out it's bad. I agree with Steve93Talon that if you do plan on buying new the 71hta might not be a bad choice, and although they haven't gotten real popular Maperformance's EH1 nets that power easily as well.
