For about 3 months now, if I go WOT it feels like the car misses out and jerks a little. Only thing is, it's just the turbo missing out, not the engine. Next, my boost controller decided to stop working. Even at it's lowest setting it'll go up to 22 psi. Lastly, I bought a forced performance intake and the hoses I had to disconnect from my stock intake have no place to go. FP said to seal them off but that caused my check engine light to come on, it idled like it had ADD, and was noticeably slower. It spooled quicker with the FP intake, but didn't pull as hard and the BOV sounded different & weak like"fshhh.." instead of a "FWEE!!".

Sound effects aside, does any of this sound familiar to you guys? Thanks!

from looking at your mods list the first thing im going to say is don't keep mashing the gas pedal to 22psi on the stock fuel system. its missing and jerking because its leaning out and knocking. you need to upgrade your fuel system... if your on a budget evo injectors and a fuel pump are good for that 16g but you'll still need something to tune with as well.

your boost controller is probably working fine too. when you go WOT does the boost hold at 10-12psi for a second and then climb to 22psi real fast? if so thats called boost creep and the only way you can really eliminate it is by doing a lot of porting... read up! :D

Turbo Porting
Exhaust Manifold Porting
O2 Housing Porting
if its not doing that you might have your boost controller installed wrong, check and double check... instead of a compressor housing nipple you should have one on one of your IC pipes?

if you could please take a picture of your intake and of the hoses that you had to leave disconnected. it sounds to me like your not recirculating your bov and you threw a CEL because somethings not hooked up right.

Yeah can't help you on the first 2 but the last one sounds like you recirculation tube was the one you are missing for your intake. The tube goes from your intake(after the filter and mass air flow sensor) on to your bov.

Thanks for the replies guys. Here's some more details on the problems. First the timeline:
0. Everything was fine.
1. Started jerking occasionally, only at high boost and WOT.
2. Installed 4" Forced Performance Air intake & removed honeycomb in MAS.
3. Idled rough and check engine light came on.
4. Put back stock intake pipe, put back MAS honeycomb. CEL is off. Now boost controller isn't working. Misses/jerks all the time at moderate and high boost in any gear.

* FUEL SYSTEM*
I've had a lot of people tell me that it's fuel cut, but it used to never miss out or anything, then all of a sudden it started doing it a little bit only at WOT, now it'll jerk in every gear. But yeah, you're right I need to upgrade the fuel system. I just hope I haven't done any permanent damage

*BOOST LEVELS*
No, it doesn't spike or surge, it just slowly goes up to 22 psi as if it was set that way. It started doing this after I put the stock intake pipe back on. When it was working it would stop at 5 psi at the lowest setting and 18 at the highest.

**AIR INTAKE**
Here's my conversation with the guys at FP:

Me: Hello, I just received my 4" DSM air intake. When I removed my air intake I had to disconnect two hoses from the stock intake. Do you know what I should do with these disconnected hoses? There is not a spot to reconnect them on the 4'' intake.

FP:You just eliminate them, i recommend a catch can for the breather.

Me: I removed the first hose and put a small cone filter on the head. As for the other hose, i tried both leaving it open and also plugging it, but now my car idles all funky and dies when I drive it. Any suggestions?

FP: Do you have the stock BOV recirculating?

Me: Yes, I have the stock 1g BOV connected to the intake pipe. The only hose I'm having problems with is the hose from the charcoal canister coming from under the battery. (I don't know if I should block it off or keep it open). It idles rough but doesn't die. The check engine light is also on.

FP: Should not idle rough by eliminating the canister sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere else. You can call me to go over what you have done to the car maybe we can point it out

If you want, I could try and get some pictures uploaded if this post isn't clear enough. Thanks everyone! :D

It was a boot leak! Thanks guys...

It was a big tear in a little hose that I overlooked. We fixed it and everything is back to normal. Over spring break I'll install the FP intake and see if my car will still run as strong as it's running right now. Cross your fingers...
