3" Exhaust question please help!

I just bought a 3" catback exhaust. It didnt come with a 3 inch cat but a test pipe.

I cant use the test pipe because it wont fit to the downpipe but could I bolt the other parts of the exhaust onto the original cat?
They look like the same flanges though

Help?

Most likely you will need to goto an exhaust shop and get the flanges rewelded at the correct position if they do infact fit.

Better safe than sorry? Exhaust leaks are annoying and should be avoided. especially in a state with emission laws if you are in one.

When I bought my 3" catback from ebay, it came with a small (around 3" long) reducer section that you have to use if you bolt it up to the stock cat.

The 3" piping will definitely not bolt straight up to the stock catalytic converter. On the exhaust I bought at least.
