Exhaust Question. Please help!

Okay, I have been modding my car for a while and i have just ordered and recieved my whole exhaust, now for my question, I bought a catback exhaust system and a downpipe do i need to buy a high flow catalytic converter or will the catback and the downpipe eliminate the catalytic converter? i looked around and checked the FAQ Fourm, and i couldn't find any thing on this, so if someone could please answer my question that would help alot. Thanks

It depends on the design of the downpipe. Some are longer to eliminate the cat/test pipe, some are standard length.

You will probably need either a cat or straight pipe unless you have a cat eliminator DP, if you have the parts, why are you asking us?

Get under your car and measure your stock downpipe. If the downpipe you have is the same size, then you need to get a cat. If it is longer and includes the length of the cat, then you don't need a cat.

The downpipe at the top is a cat-eliminator downpipe, which eliminates the cat.
The downpipe at the bottom can be hooked up to a cat or a test pipe.

It would also help if you provide information on the exhaust system that you bought. For example, Apex-i only sells cat-eliminator downpipes.

I don't want to keep saying what everyone else is but everyone is correct, the only thing I would ad is if there is emmisions testing where you live, if so you will need a cat to pass.
