Exhaust installation question....please help.

Aight, so here's the deal. I've got a 95 tsi, stock except for intake and a 1st gen bov. I bought a magnaflow muffler which I plan on having installed. It's got a 3" opening, cuz I was told 3" for turbos is the way to go. I'm also going to buy a high-flow cat as well, to replace the stock one. Here's the question. Does it matter that I want 3" piping? Can that all be done with the rest of the pre-existing stock equipment? I plan on getting a new downpipe, headers, IC piping and all eventually, but can a muffler shop put the piping on as is? Obviously the rest of the piping isn't 3" that it'd be connected to, which is why I'm asking.

Dont waste the time or, no offense intended here, harrasement going to a muffler shop to get a 3 inch cat and muffler welded to 2 inch piping, check around, you can get 3 inch piping for pretty cheap, but it wont look good, get it press bent, its cheaper and you wont have many bends being AWD. and get it done correctly.

Also there are no headers on our cars, just exhaust manifolds. But were are in a newbie forum, and that is where you learn. Just wait a few weeks to save up for hte rest and get it done all at once. Have fun.

I meant exhaust manifold by headers. I apologize. And I was planning on having the piping replaced, making it all 3" from the cat back.
