Okkk, so I finally got back home from school, and decided that tonight I was going to begin working on putting the pile of parts that have been building up in my room onto my Spyder. We decided to just completely disassemble the exhaust after the o2 housing. The big issue is a small hose that connects into the piping about 3-5 inches after the cat. I've checked out diagrams and have absolutely no clue what the hose is for. Inside it feels like there may be a wire. The tube runs into the car directly below the driver's seat, and runs out the front of the seat (under the carpet) and as best I can feel it goes up into the area behind the radio and dash controls. The only idea I could come up with is that a previous owner had a EGT guage hooked up, and left it tapped in but took the guage. If anyone has any idea as to what this hose/wire is and or how to get it disconnected from the pipe that would be super.

what about the wire from the cat converter.. sensor to make the check engine light come on. i know when i got my exhaust done last week, the check engine light comes on now cause that wire was disassembled. just a thought

Which O2 sensor did you take the exhaust off after, the 1st or 2nd?
That sounds like the down steam O2 sensor. You either have to drill a hole in your exhaust for it, or do what I did and tape it up. DON'T cut it off! I almost did that too. I have no idea how to disconnect it.

Ok I guess it's a the secondary o2 sensor which is directly behind the cat. Now I need someone who has any idea how to remove it, as it is the only thing still connected to the car. The rest of the exhaust is laying on the floor. Please help!

Remove the driver's seat. Reach your hand thru the slit in the carpet and find the o2 sensor connector. It will be along the hump. Disconnect the o2 sensor. From under the car, pull out the rubber plug that the cable passes thru. Pull the cable along with the connector thru the hole. Disconnect the braided ground strap at the catback/cat flange. (if it is still there). Drop the exhaust. Unscrew the o2 sensor. :thumb:

:rocks: rock on boys, thanks. Now that i have the megan downpipe on with nothing else- good think the car is parked until i come back for the summer. Kinda sounds like a late model nascar with a little blow off at the end ROFL Thanks everyone for the help.
