Hello,

I have been using Eric's excel spreadsheet to try and smooth out my VE table a little bit better than what it was. I was able to get about two runs through the excel spreadsheet before I blew off an IC piping coupler at the end of the 3rd gear run (hence only being around 5500 or whatever it was before I let off). It's kind of funny because the log shows around 1110hp around that time! ROFL

Anyways, it's not pretty or close to done being tuned. I would just like to see if someone can let me know if I am headed in the right direction. Any advice appreciated!

Thanks!:hellyeah:

You really need to speed up your shifting, it took you a long arse 0.6 seconds to go from 2nd to 3rd :p

Looking good so far, knock is low which is excellent. I would do some more runs and use the spread sheet more as your AFREst and WB aren't matching up for most of the run.

However, you list as having 1250cc injectors yet you are using a fuel table for 941cc injectors?
Your VE table needs cleaned up as well. What table did you use as a base line?

For the boost gauge, I prefer to use it as a volt meter, it's much more help full than the knock gauge which can turn the CEL on a x* timing pull. Having the volt meter has saved me multiple times by getting a new alternator before it left me stranded or jacked something up.

The shifting is a little slow because around here you can't get away with too many pulls like that. So there's always a "is a LEO around" look before going on. I'd really like to find an untraveled road here I can make some clean runs up and down.

I haven't seen any knock, but I'm not tempted to play with timing yet. I plan on doing a few more runs and getting the AFRs closer in line with AFRatioEst.

Yeah, I titled the log with "E70" on it. Thus, my global fuel setting are for 1250cc injectors, just a different stoich value. I like my knock gauge...keeps me in my comfort zone when I'm making pulls that could make or break my engine :thumb:

I agree. The VE table is ugly, it's not pretty to look at, but it works. I believe we built one using ECMLinks' method of getting a baseline through a couple of runs on the MAF. I have tried using Sam's from RRE a few times and there are just too many differences. Until I can get some better cams, I think I can expect my table to look like garbage. Once I can start getting decently clean pulls, I will go in and "smooth" everything out, so there's a nice transition from cell to cell.

Looking at how it built the VE table, it really looks like these cams are giving up after 6k. Any thoughts?

Holy Christmas tree batman! That VE table is colorful! :)

I don't know how in the hell you are running that timing and AFR on a stroker without knock, with a mix of our pump piss and ethanol.

Haha it's very colorful! I was thinking of marketing this as a coloring book for kids! ROFL

Well, I'm running E70 and should be right at E85 next fill-up. If you notice, my fuel/timing tables look VERY close to yours :sneaky: I did go ahead and drop the AFR in the DA table to 11.5 instead of 12.0...so that could be a helping factor. On the next fill-up, I plan on going ahead and bumping things back up to an AFR of 12.0. Apparently, blowing off intercooler piping nets you an additional 700hp...I'm making around 1100hp when it goes! Who knew! ROFL

My car seems to like an AFR of about 11.7:1 on straight E85 (which Gofer mentioned a while back and I thought was too rich at the time), with max timing around 12 to 14. But another local stroker seems to make best power at 12.5:1 or even higher, but with lower timing.

I bumped up my timing and lowered the AFR because I wasn't comfortable with the higher EGT's I was seeing, considering the HX40 carnage I saw last year (although we never did positively identify what happened to cause it to grenade).

That's really interesting. I will have to play around with those factors and see what this car has a taste for: more timing or a leaner AFR. I'm really loving the low-end throttle response, so I might keep things the way they are if anything goes wacky tweaking things around.

I was reading some information on how the AEM Wideband gauges aren't liked too much for their inaccuracy. This got me a little bit worried since that is one of my primary tuning methods in ECMLink. Any thoughts?
