Resolved 2gNT VSS new pigtail wire splice

I had to replace the VSS on my 1997 Eclipse manual transmission. But the existing wire harness connector was incompatible with the new sensor that was called out at all the parts house. So I used the pigtail that was provided with the new VSS and now it still does not work. I spliced the wires in the following manner:

yellow &white to white and orange
Black & green to black & blue
yellow to orange

I get voltage of around 9v at the orange wire pin with ignition on. My question is did I splice this correctly? See photos. Thanks

According to the FSM the Manual 420A VSS is wired:

Pin 1 Yellow Power from PCM pin 44
Pin 2 Black/Green Ground
Pin 3 Yellow/White VSS signal PCM pin 66

Can't speak to what sensor you have or the new connector.

You can test it by spinning the sensor with a drill.

Make sure your sensor is properly mating to the plastic gear on the diff. I've seen them get brittle and fall apart inside the trans.

As it turns out the plastic gear inside the tranny fell off. Not the one that connects to the VSS but the one the drives it. So had to take it back out and back to the shop for another try. Thanks for the help.
