My 1998 Eclipse RS still has rear drum brakes and I want to swap to disk brakes but I’m unsure of what parts are needed for me to swap brakes

What I did when I went from 4-Lug Drums to 5-Lug disc on my galant was swapping the entire rear knuckle. I went to a junkyard and grabbed both sides on a 50% off day. Knuckle, e-brake cable, and the entire assembly for the brakes for under $100. I just changed the pads and rotors when I did my swap

It will be more exonomical if you can buy the rear disc calipers, parking brake cables, and backing plates from a member here, but you can still get the calipers online, since you’ll be ordering new pads and discs too.

Here’s an instruction sheet on the steps you’ll need to do:

Here is our experience doing the swap on our ‘99 Spyder (post #53):

You’ll like the results when you’re finished.

Check out my video on how i converted my drums to rear disc.

I used all oem parts from a GS, all i had to do is get those backing plates and everything included it should all fit. Even the e brake cables which you have to get from inside the car.
