My 98 Eclipse GS non turbo has drum brakes. I'm also looking at converting to disk and not really knowing exactly what parts are needed for the conversion

Google and add dsmtuners as their is a write up and list of things to do for it.

The only GS models that should have been available with rear drums were spyders. Either way, the conversion is the same as coupes. You'll need the backing plates, calipers, hoses, rotors & pads, parking brake shoes & hardware, and parking brake cables.

The easiest approach is to just pull the whole spindle from a 2g or 3g and swap out the whole deal.

So almost the whole rear of a 2g gst or gsx?
Remove the red nuts/bolts. Take the yellow piece and everything attached to it (green).

You'll also want the parking brake cables (blue)

Some information has been around for years:

Alternatively, I used a Mitsubishi Diamante rear disc brake setup on one of my 2g. It's a direct swap. You'll need the parking brake cables as well. The entire spindle bolts up but you really only need the the caliper assemblies, rotors and parking brake cables. I did this because no other rear disc brake equipped vehicles were available. Nobody else seems to know that these parts will work but I had no trouble at all with them. It you plan to run a wide wheel and tire assembly I'd stick with the DSM spindles as the Diamante spindles have a tighter curvature, but they won't change the suspension geometry or travel.

I have some good info on post #368 in my build thread. Some before and after as well but that's when I realized that the swap is literally a bolt on ordeal without even spindle swapping.
