As the title states, would the 1G brakes work on the 2G or its totally different? Because I know the 2G brakes work for the 2G RS. Also, does ABS make a difference? And does our cars have traction control, cus rain driving is really fun for me LOL ROFL .

Rice car parked outside my workplace.

As far as your brakes are concerned, do you mean just the pads or the whole braking system? Generally, as the cars got newer the brakes got better....I was curious as to why you would want to put 1G brakes on a 2G car.

Because I have a 97' RS with drums in the rear and can't find any rear 2G brakes and have an abundance of 1G's.

Direct Quote: "Your rear brakes are fine, the more brake you put on the front the less you need on the rear."

However, if you insist on doing this, I'm pretty sure the bolt patterns on 1G's and 2G's are the same, so the rotors should fit if you swap. You may need to do a little custom work though to mount the calipers if you are set up for drums.

P.S. Traction control = AWD.

When adjusted and functioning properly, drum brakes perform very well on the rear of cars....many cars have had them for years. Most (if not all) of the Spyder's out there have drum on the rear, so I agree that if you're having trouble stopping I'd dump more money in the front instead of the rear.
