I got a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse with the 420a motor, and I'm looking into getting a engine rebuild.
I did a leak down test and had air escaping from the oil dipstick tube, and the turbo which was installed by the previous owner. (Probably why the engines dead). So my guess is it's piston rings and the valves so I just want a full rebuild done.
My question is about how much does a full rebuild from a shop cost for this car?
I don't have anywhere to do it myself so I'm looking for a shop to do it. I also am not trying to throw any real performance into this thing I just bought it for $300 and I want to turn it into my daily. I might even take out the turbo or run it no more then 5 psi. Thanks.
