I have a stock 99 GS, which exhaust will make her breath better and have a nice sound.

From my reading it sounds like I should buy a header and down pipe. Buy a decent muffler and weld the rest of it myself, is that a safe assumption?

Can you even buy an off the shelf system anymore thats available like srs or megan? I think those days are long gone.

If you want something fully bolt on you can still get a Yonaka catback or on eBay some cheap knockoff catback systems.

It wouldn't hurt anything to get your muffler of choice and weld it on. If you have plans for a turbo in the future though it may be best to get a catback system for their larger pipe diameter. The stock exhaust system is 2.25" ID and narrows down to ~1.75" at some bends. Most aftermarket systems will be 2.5" or 3".

in reccomend a 2.5 exhaust. I have a 3inch ebay and it had fitment issues where it goes between the rear subframe and gas tank
