Are you telling me you only dyno'd at 100 hp with all those N/A Mods..... something was wrong with your dyno run, thats not right.
Yeah, definitely doesn't look right...the 2gnt dynos more than 100whp stock

Snoopy you need to post more pics of your car! :p

you mean the car that the clutch just blew up on... sure! I've got to get a clutch shipped and installed by next weekend if I hope to drive my DSM to the shootout this year. Last year I had to drive my mustang cause the motor was blown... I am getting my freakin DSM there this year, if I have to push it!

Back to the original topic!

I believe our cars dyno at 130 to the wheels stock.

just buy a case of octane booster, keep it in your trunk
then pour one into your tank, and fill with premium

bam your octance is over 100 for 5$, about the cost of 2 gallons here

No way will you be over 100 with octance boost.

I was going to say that.
Octane booster only raises you actane a 1/4 point or so with each can, and you aren't supposed to use more than one can per tank :tease:

LOL.. Dude you obviously didn't read the lable.

Super 107+ Octane booster will raise your octane 0.7 not 7.0. So if your running 94 octane and you put in that whole bottle you will have 94.7 octane not 100.

Do you seriously think it's that easy? If it was nobody would buy race gas. :|

Hey you said you might trade it in for a newer manual GS. If you want quick power and a cheap car go find a turbo 1g. There a dime a dozen and you'll always have the 6bolt motor. I had a 99RS I dumped more money than I could count and when I bought my 99GS-T(which was stock) it was like CRAP!, if I could only get that money back. Then I sold it and my rs got totaled, and now i have my talon. :) Sorry for the long post but if somebody woulda told me then what I know now my car would be alot farther along. :talon: :thumb:

Justice happened.

You do know that my ESi turbo is faster then my buddy's modded TSi AWD turbo? he did all the free mods, 3" turboback exhaust, no cat, boost controller, la de da and he runs 14.5 (this is at very high altitude, corrects to low 14s). a stage 1 turbo RS Eclipse here ran 14.5 without an intercooler or tuning on a turbo that is smaller then mine. From a roll, my car destroyed my buddy's TSi... and my turbo kit only cost me $2k cdn since I put it all together myself.

You need to be dedicated and serious about performance to go fast in a 2GNT. If you are a chump who just wants bolt-ons, don't even bother, and buy the car you were born to drive - a Honda.

Haha... Yeah I think it's kind of funny because I just bought a neon r/t as my daily since my 1g AWD is now a project car. The neon has the 420a in there and I'm sorry to say, being a DSM guy to start, it would roll any 2g N/T easily. I definitely don't plan on modding the neon because... it's an N/T and I want to keep it reliable. If you want a fast eclipse then buy a turbo eclipse, the 4g63 is made for speed, the 420a isn't. Putting a turbo kit on will only create an unreliable car unless you really know what you're doing in which case I'd really question why the hell you'd buy a N/T eclipse when you can get an AWD turbo for a fraction of the cost. Modding a FWD seems practically useless to me and an N/T at that... not to mention automatic. Sorry man but if I were you I'd deal with what you have and stop wastin money on bolt ons that won't make much of a diff.

Forced induction or displacement. Or both.

you brought back this thread for a bunch of smileys :toobad:

...and I bring it back for Wufei; I just wanna make sure you know that the shift kit does not let you manually shift the car. It just makes the car shift harder & quicker itself.
Hey Nikki! Thanks but I've long joined the dark side of 4g63 :thumb:

I thought it would let me manually shift?

gone with a turbo huh? that's cool!
But yup, the shift kit doesn't let you manually shift. There's the paddle shift kit where you can manually shift, but I haven't found a kit made for the Chrysler tranny yet.....only for the turbo/Mitsubishi trannys. Lucky.... :)

Good to hear, BigRand!

Nikki, I actually meant did I ask about manually shifting? Haha, but I totally failed to get that point across :( There's a paddle shift kit for the n/t autos now? Never heard of that before, something new?

ohhh LOL I see. Yeah, you had mentioned somewhere in this thread earlier about the shift kit and how you want it so you can manually change gears.

But no, there's *not* a paddle shift kit out that I have found yet for the NT autos.....only ones with Mitsubishi trannys. It's fairly new, I believe.

Haha, wow I can't read lately -_-"

Hey guys,

What're the best/first mods (money-wise) for more power for the 2GNT (420a) with Auto Tranny (don't think I want to run NOS)? I'm going to be using my DSM for mostly daily driving (might take it to the track a few times when summer rolls around).

I'm putting in NGK spark plugs (car came w/Accel 300+ TS wires) and K&N air filter this weekend, also getting a tune-up soon if not this weekend. I've heard that good first mods to do would be to get a Cold Air Intake and Exhaust, but I was wondering how much hp they would add to a NT/NA car? Also, I know that the shift kit & tranny cooler help as a preventive measure, but do they give much performance gains?

I guess my goal for this car (for now ;) ) is to raise the hp to around 160-170 so it doesn't feel as slow :p

Also, suggestion on brands of specific parts would be appreciated!

Thank you!

My God he said NOS, Best mod you could do, and I do not mean this in any down or mean way... Sell the 2G NT Automatic...Buy a 1G GSX/GS-T Manual Transmission. You should even have some cash left over for some starting mods. Your starting with the wrong platform...belive me I know, the first car I ever modded was a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire Automatic, stock HP was 115HP...92HP to the wheels. 170 HP wont feel like anything once your there so basically what i'm sayin is go big or don't go at all.:dsm:

Look what I found! It's in an N/T forum sticky posted by Ludachris...

If we hear of people coming in the the N/T forums and giving N/T owners a hard time or suggesting they sell their cars and buy turbo cars, those users will be suspended or banned.

woopty doo, glad you found this thread first ROFL

umm....2gnt vs sunfire = no contest
420a + t = t3h rox0rz :rocks:

too bad I'm not in fremont, california....I would love to destroy you on the highway, even with your carbon fiber hood, woot for bench racing :toobad:
